From early on in the family business, Joe learned how to be a part of a community and serve a customer. The Quartanas had a plaster figurine shop and afterward a women's clothing store for working women. That is where and how Joe learned how to work with people in a business setting. This is one of the driving forces in his life, the pursuit of business and life together for his personal vision of success.
Creating content, written or otherwise is the largest need and agent of growth. We produce world class messaging ideas and points of impact for business. Whether it be a product launch or just turning an email, the content and messaging aka marketing of your business is most likely the difference between success and failure. Each step is based on a decision, is measurable and can be done better.
The judgement and good sense that can mean the difference between success and failure. I think this was common sense. Emotional intelligence is the greatest key to growth at all levels. In business, even more so. Bringing an understanding has to be followed up by focused action with energy. This creates performance levels that are measurable. The next conversation is what works, not why not.
Over my life I have been in all sorts of sales and marketing of almost anything you can imagine. From using the cash register as a kid for my mom's business to sitting in boardrooms with masters on the wall, I have experienced a very large spectrum of business goals and realities.
Over 50 years brings about history. Many huge and prestigious corporations and organizations that are gone, some of the industries with them. But it is the people, the individuals I remember and serve the best. And it is never about the money. When I was growing up, I cleaned a lot of toilets; toilets in homes, offices and yes, forest preserve bathroooms.
I am one helluva lotto machine
Hans and Eva owned a little corner store in Lincoln Park and Illinois had just started the Lotto program. The state lotto organization were sending a person in a foam box made to look as a Lotto machine to promote the Lotto.
That day was cold and the person did not show. My friends were very disappointed. At the end of the day as I was buying something at the store, my friends pulled out the schnapps and in another few minutes I was a cold Lotto machine dancing on Webster Avenue. How much fun is it to help your neighbor or friend. I think it is both fun and the right thing to do. This is the heart of business, working together.
